Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In this unit, our amazing fifth grade students will be exploring the essentialness of water! Through collaborative inquiry they will investigate the importance of water quality for regulation of their bodies health. Additionally, they will consider the quality of the water they consume in their communities and explore the possibility that clean and nutritious water may be available to some and not others. With an understanding of water, where it comes from and how it is provided to us for a variety of uses students will take an active role and an analytical eye to advocate for change if it is necessary.

Students will come to the understanding that water is a fundamental human right and affects communities health, education and economic development worldwide.

In order to complete this investigation our students will need quality water testing kits, white boards, headphones for on-line investigation and other classroom supplies for their presentation.

The donations to this project will allow for the students opportunities to investigate this important topic with a hands on and data driven approach.
