My Students

My students and I spent this year in distance learning. Even though distance learning has been a struggle for my students in different ways, we have created amazing routines, art projects and science experiments. At the end of February, many of my students and I will be returning to in-school learning. It will be challenging and wonderful at the same time. I am requesting these supplies to get my classroom ready for our upcoming circumstances.

We are living through history.

My students are incredible people. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.

My Project

My students are active learners and eager to return to in-school learning. After 10 months of Distance Learning, our in-person procedures are going to be very different. When we come back in the building, students will be unable to access water from the drinking fountains. It is so important that my students stay hydrated, healthy and focused on our classroom activities. Many of my students' families cannot afford to purchase water bottles--I would like to take care of this student need, with your help.

Water is one of the essentials of life, please help me give my students easier access to water and more focus on their classroom activities.

In our classroom we are focused on our whole-body health, including our social emotional health. Water, and equitable access to water, plays a large part in our social emotional heath. I also am requesting some books that address mental health--these books by Susan Verde and Peter Reynolds, like "I Am Peace" and "I Am Human" are engaging and calming. Thank you for considering this project!
