This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Working as a school-based occupational therapist, I am responsible for assisting neurodiverse students in accessing their education. Most of my students have sensory processing difficulties, which makes it more challenging for them to perform the meaningful activities (occupations) required for their role as students and access their education.

It is my goal to provide them with materials and activities to improve their skills to perform the meaningful activities (occupations) required for their role as a student and access their education.

With a 4-station adjustable play table with sensory bins, they can improve their sensory integration skills and thus perform their role as a student and access their education.

My students are so easy to love, and I want to do anything and everything possible to provide them with all the equipment they need to improve their sensory processing and make their academic experience constructive and adequate.
