This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My wonderful K-2 students on the Autism spectrum are very motivated to learn. However, they struggle with traditional pen and paper lessons due to their unique abilities and challenges. Many have issues with textures, and their diets are very limited. We seek to increase the variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs that they are willing to try. As we all know, the more produce we consume, the healthier we are. My students are more willing to try things that they have nurtured and grown.

We need seed starting pots and soil as well as fertilizer to start our school garden, where everyone will have a chance to succeed.
