This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students love learning about plants and how they grow! Since we live in a big city, most students do not have access to enough outdoor space to create gardens at home. Our students absolutely love working in the school garden, but want to be able to grow plants during the winter too.
Early childhood programs can use gardens to provide multi-sensory learning experiences and to give children a strong foundation in basic STEM concepts.
Gardening can also expose children to science and other STEM disciplines at an earlier age, which will increase the likelihood of them studying or working in a STEM-related field later in life.
I am asking for an indoor garden center and gardening supplies as well as books to help us learn more about plants and how they grow!
