My Project

At our Southeast Washington, DC school, we have some of the most amazing 7th graders excited to travel internationally! For the past four years, our young Black and Brown boys have studied the Black Experience globally, and as a part of critical exposure, they are traveling to Europe. They will be following the steps of Fredrick Douglass, our school's character model, as he traveled across Europe as a newly freed Black man.

We want to provide our boys with carry-on luggage to ensure that we have a fantastic travel experience that changes their lives.

Most of our boys are from low-income families where travel is not the norm, so they do not have proper luggage. Therefore, we want our boys to have uniform luggage for their travels, so they feel like jet setters! We do not want them to feel embarrassed.
