Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I hope that reading this book allows students to be inspired to read, but also inspired by the story of a young woman that uses her resources and ingenuity to retrieve important cultural relics. As secrets and mysteries unfurl, Perry and her friends must fight to find a way to make things right--for the ancestors and for their community.

It is vital that students are exposed to culturally relevant literature that is representative of them.

This novel will allow my students to see themselves as important players in their own communities and hopefully inspire them to create longstanding change.
