Warmth for the Winter

Help me give my students hats, scarves, gloves, socks, and some healthier snacks to make the winter more bearable. My heart breaks when my young ones come to school and go home frozen and hungry.

My Project

I'm humbly requesting items to keep my Student Leaders warm this winter. Winter hats, gloves, and scarves should be essential items for every child but unfortunately in my class, they're not AND socks are a luxury item altogether.

People don't truly understand how many times I greet my young ones at arrival and they're complaining about how cold their hands and ears are.

People also don't truly understand how many students walk oddly because their feet (especially the toes) are cold from lack of socks.

Additionally, I'm requesting a few healthier snacks, especially breakfast-type snacks, to keep in the classroom for those who arrive and haven't eaten. My school does serve breakfast but it is common for students to arrive when the cafeteria has finished serving breakfast and is preparing lunch. In these times, the kids are hungry and unable to focus.

I do and have purchased these items for my students. I'm not asking for anything I don't do myself but with inflation the way it is, my ability to purchase the more expensive items is limited. I have a closet in the back of my classroom where students go and get what they need discretely and without asking me, including classroom supplies and snacks. I cannot get upset at a child who goes home to feed and take care of their siblings for not having a pencil and I don't want to embarrass that student for always having to ask. I used to have hats, gloves, and socks but I simply cannot afford it all myself now.

Thank you in advance for considering helping my Student Leaders.
