This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students the opportunity to get a good start to each day with a breakfast snack and a read aloud about self-care. I have taught at a title 1 school my entire career (this is year 23!) and I can tell you that starting the day off in a calm, relaxed, loving environment is the key to a successful day full of learning opportunities. As a teacher, my job is to provide my students with every opportunity to learn and feel loved. My students usually eat a free breakfast at school, but many arrive late and miss breakfast time. They come to school hungry and buying snacks can be very expensive for me as a teacher. Please consider donating these snacks to my classroom. In the morning I always start the day with a social emotional or self-care read aloud. I have chosen some books that I know the children will really enjoy. Thank you so much considering my classroom and we look forward to receiving our special donations.
