This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a middle school Social Worker in the heart of the South Bronx seeking funding for reusable heating and ice packs to provide comfort and relief to my students during challenging times.

My students from the South Bronx face many challenges, including physical discomfort, stress, and limited resources, which can impact their ability to focus and engage in school.

Many students, especially girls, experience discomfort during their menstrual cycle, and others face stress or physical pain that can hinder their participation in lessons.

These simple, versatile packs will offer students a way to relieve physical and emotional discomfort, allowing them to regain focus and feel supported while at school. Whether used for menstrual cramps, stress, or other physical aches, the packs will provide them with immediate comfort and self-care.

The goal of this project is to create a school environment where students feel cared for and supported, helping them to focus better on their studies and participate fully in classroom activities. By providing this small yet impactful resource, we can reduce stress, improve emotional-well being, and promote a sense of safety and comfort.
