Have you ever heard of the song "Take it easy" by the Eagles, that's our small town in Arizona! Although we sound "Famous" we are a small low income community boarding one of the Navajo Reservations. I work for our school teaching around 250 5th and 6th graders. Our students often come to school without proper winter attire.
I am doing a service project of making hats based on the hat template the students colored during class (unbeknownst to them.) I am hoping with my efforts that I can reach out for any assistance.
Although we live in Arizona we live in the Northern part where it is 10 degrees while the students are showing up for school!
Crocheting and knitting is a big part of our community. We also have a class learning how to knit and crochet. You'll often see on our campus that some students at recess will be sitting underneath a tree crocheting away their new amigurumi pet. I am a School Alumni and was that student crocheting while learning in school. It helps not only with focusing and keeping your hands busy but the friendships created by gifting other students with their creations build a better community. I hope to create an avenue of resources for our students and ensure our community is kept warm any help in this would be greatly appreciated ♥️
