Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The winter season is almost upon us and to many of us, basic needs like shelter, food, warmth, water, or clean air are things that we may not always worry about. The immediate reality, for my students having been born into lower income families, means that they can barely make ends meet and some even struggle with either buying food to eat or paying the heating bill.

I want my students to experience a heart-warming, memorable, and joyful winter season with their own warm beanies, cozy gloves, and keepsake winter ornaments.

I need your help to make this winter season a warn, cheerful, and memorable experience so they each take home the warm beanies and cozy gloves for the holidays in their own gift bag. My goal is to receive the beanies and gloves along with classroom winter themed read aloud story books, DIY winter themed ornament kits, an electric hot water kettle, bottled water, hot chocolate packets, shortbread cookies, and holiday gift bags. Having an electric hot water kettle and water will help to prepare the hot chocolate that they will be enjoying with some shortbread cookies while having a cooperative classroom learning experience putting together the DIY ornaments after each read aloud.

Your generosity will allow these simple items make their holiday season a little bit warmer, brighter, and fun before the scheduled winter break. They will continue to see that we care about their food insecurities and that we support their learning journey with safe and memorable activities.
