Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Lunar New Year is a time of joy, renewal, and community, celebrated with meaningful traditions that foster a sense of belonging and gratitude. As a teacher in a diverse and vibrant school community, I want to create a special moment for my students by gifting them hoodies to commemorate this festive season. These hoodies will not only serve as a warm, practical item during the colder months but also symbolize unity, care, and cultural appreciation.

Our classroom is a melting pot of cultures and stories, with students who bring their unique perspectives to our learning environment every day.

Many of them come from low-income households where basic necessities often take precedence over extras like warm clothing. These incredible students are resilient, curious, and always eager to learn, despite the challenges they face outside of school.

I am requesting funding to purchase high-quality hoodies for each of my students. These hoodies will be personalized with our class name or a simple design to reflect the spirit of the Lunar New Year, fostering a sense of belonging and pride. By providing this gift, I hope to: Keep my students warm and comfortable during the winter months. Celebrate the Lunar New Year with a thoughtful and inclusive gesture. Promote cultural awareness and community spirit within our classroom.

This project will have a lasting impact on my students by: Meeting a practical need for warm clothing, especially for families who may struggle to afford such items. Strengthening our classroom community through a shared gift that celebrates an important cultural event. Boosting students' self-esteem and sense of belonging as they wear their hoodies with pride.
