This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Holidays bring a break from schoolwork for students, but for several children in the metropolitan D.C. area, it can also mean a break from their only reliable source of a nutritious meal, the subsidized school meal program.
May my students plates be full and their hearts be warm over the holidays.
Winter break can be a tough time for some families. Every school day, our students receive breakfast, lunch, morning snack and an afternoon snack.
Providing every student at my school with a box full of nutritious food and snacks, will give them a sense of familiarity/comfort during their 2-week break.
