My Project

As the temperatures began to drop, it is very frigid as students wait for buses. When students wait for their bus outside, they generally are waiting for more than a few minutes. In the time frame of waiting for buses or walking from their house to the bus, their hands and ears get very cold. My students would like to share gloves and hats with peers to help keep them warm and safe.

There are several students that are unable to purchase gloves and hats due to their financial constraints within their homes.

Many students will also wear these while in their home because: they do not have adequate heating systems, there is no installation or insufficient insulation in their home, or they live in tents. The goal for this project is to allow students that do not have the finances to purchase gloves and hats to be able to have these items to help keep them warm within their home and while waiting for buses. Being warm within their home will allow them to sleep better, which will allow them to be more prepared for school. Being warm while they wait for the bus will also help with their physical health and will help meet their emotional needs of having their basic needs met.
