Warm Hands, Heads, and Hearts

Help me give my students feel warmth and safety this winter with thick gloves, hats and basket to keep it all organized.

My Project

My school is filled with a diverse group of learners who are excited to dive into each activity. Although I try to bring my students outdoors as much as possible, the many winter months of South Dakota can make this challenging. Many of my students do not have the means to get the items they need to keep them safe and warm in the cold. This project will gift each student a pair of warm gloves, a hat, and a basket to keep their items safe in.

All of my students having a warm pair of gloves and hat will create a sense of belonging in my classroom and allow all students to enjoy the outdoors, even in the cold.

Last year, students were eager to play in the snow but faced challenges as school policy only allows students with all their winter gear to play in it. Providing these items for my students would take down a barrier many students have no control over. The baskets would allow their items to stay in one place and not be mixed around with their peers’. Please consider warming the hands, heads and hearts of my students this year!
