Help me give my students something warm to wear around school this winter. Our school is an older building that does not stay properly heated. This gear would help my students stay comfortable while learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach at a school where all students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Most of my students are living in poverty, with some very rough situations. School is the place they come to find support, comfort, and love.
What I love about my students is their determination.
I have a group of kids who show up to school every day ready to go.
My students have a huge variety of ability levels and needs, many of them performing under grade level. We have a lot of work to do every day, therefore it is important for my students to feel comfortable in their learning environment.
My Project
Our school is an older building that has problems heating up during the winter months. There are some rooms in the building that are uncomfortably cold. Our students are required to wear a polo shirt as a part of their uniform, and some of them do not have anything to wear under or over their short-sleeved shirts during the winter.
Providing my students with these cozy jackets will give them the comfort they need so they can focus on learning.
Some of my students walk to school and these fleece jackets and winter gloves will provide them an extra layer and warm hands as they commute. I don't want my students to have to worry about being chilly during class or on recess. I want them to be as comfortable as possible so they can enjoy their time at school.
