My Students

I teach a self-contained class in the heart of Brooklyn, Brighton Beach! My students are special education students who are being prepared for middle school. Most of my students live in poverty, and I go above and beyond to meet their needs daily. They have so much fun learning the skills they need to be successful. My students are loving, sweet, and smart individuals. They all enjoy and love learning! They come from different backgrounds with different learning styles. At the time it is extremely hard to grasp their attention. My students come to school energetic and ready to learn every day! They enjoy movement and hands-on activities the most. A learning environment that is built on positive reinforcement works best for my students. It will lead to more student engagement, which means more success! I would love to be able to provide them with everything they need to receive an enriching learning experience.

My school is a Title I school; therefore, some of my students may enter my classroom not fully equipped with all the materials they need.

Each day my kids find a way to put a smile on my faces because regardless of their home situation.

My Project

I desire to add warmth to my middle school's students this winter! As an impoverished area with a Title I school, students' resources are very low if not fully limited. This winter I want to see every student with financial needs have a warm coat.

Many of our students come to school all winter with only a cotton hoodie- and this is not by choice!

Please help me keep our students warm this winter. This simple additional layer will go a long way toward meeting basic needs in my students' lives.

We continue to work on helping them be well-fed and focused in the remote classroom as well as feeling safe. The coats will be distributed to students in need. This will be across all three grades- 6th, 7th, & 8th grades.

What more can I say...I wish to thank you for considering helping children this holiday season!
