My Kindergarten class consists of spunky students from diverse, culturally-rich backgrounds that complement our classroom community. While my students are learning to love school, the highlights of their day are recess and snack time.
My students love playing in the snow at recess and look forward to snack time in the afternoon.
My Project
Students go outside to recess down to -10 degrees in our school district. As a result, students need adequate winter gear to stay warm and safe as they play in freezing temperatures.
My students need a class set of winter gear to help them stay warm during recess, healthy food options for snack time, and sanitation supplies for a clean classroom.
About half of my class comes to school with all their winter gear, while the other half is missing a few items. A class set of winter gear will ensure everyone has a beanie, scarf, and gloves to use at school so they can have a safe, enjoyable recess. My students also need healthy snacks to fuel their brains and sustain their focus to continue learning in the afternoon. The Lysol disinfecting wipes will allow me and my TA to clean our classroom, while the students use the Purell wipes to clean and sanitize their hands after lunch.
