Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nobody wants their child in a classroom with plain, white walls and no color to inspire creativity. The classroom environment is important for young students to learn.

My students are English language learners and they are learning in two languages.

Many of them can't wait to get back to school because they have few opportunities to travel and take vacations. Welcoming them back to school with some fun, colorful classroom decorations will make them quickly become comfortable with their new classroom and get ready to learn.

My Project

The rug I have included in this project is very colorful and large enough to hold all my students during read aloud time. It will be placed in the classroom library so that they can also sit there during independent reading time. My students will be learning to write cursive this year. The color cursive letters will really pop against the darker background.The mailboxes will help to keep student papers organized and ready for kids to take with them at the end of the day as they leave the room.

This project is really important to help me create a welcoming environment for my new students.

I have been working hard this summer to prepare myself with new knowledge for the new year. I have also started preparing my classroom so that I can take it from a white wall, institutional room to a colorful, peaceful, inspiring classroom my students can be proud of. Your donation will help me to achieve this goal!
