My Project

At my high school, I often have students who suffer from academic stress. My goal is to offer a quiet and comfortable place to escape to, have a snack, or just take a breath.

Taking a break to sketch, have a snack, and journal offers students the chance to re-charge during the school day.

My low-income students often come in to say hello and I love to have treats for them, especially when they don't have much.

My students are so special and extremely intelligent. At our academically rigorous high school where students earn an AA degree in high school, can be especially challenging. An academic support office can (and should) be a place for grounding, growth, studying, and journaling.
