My Students

Have you ever had to sit in a too-small chair for a extended time period? Or squish next to someone on a train during your morning commute? My kindergarten students do this every day on the foam mats I purchased as a substitute for a classroom rug. It is too small for my class of 24 children!

I have the great fortune of teaching the kindest, most deserving group of students that I have ever met.

All under the age of six, they are incredibly excited to learn and interact with one another. They love working together, singing, dancing, and reading. They look forward to coming to school every day because they cannot wait to learn! When they rush into the room each morning with pictures in their hands that they colored for me, they make my day. They live in an urban setting and are the sweetest, most grateful group of children I have ever worked with. I am so blessed to have been given the opportunity to educate them about academics, the world, and how to work together cooperatively.

My Project

On this large, colorful classroom rug, my students will read with classmates, engage in dynamic turn-and-talk discussions, boogie on down to Dr. Jean tunes, recite the letters of the alphabet, and learn the foundations of reading and mathematics. With your support, twenty-four students will be brighter, cozier, and happier.

By donating, you will be helping me provide my wonderful kindergarten students with the opportunity to learn and converse with their peers in a comfortable, cozy setting.
