This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in a small community in south St. Louis. We are a community school. The students come from many different countries around the world. The majority of the students walk to school each day because they live very near to the school campus.
Families choose our school because they want a smaller school environment where the students are treated like family.
Some of the families we encounter have been with us since we started this quaint, little charter school. Our families and staff are always striving to make our school a better place in the community.
My Project
Children have a difficult time learning to write. Teaching students to become great writers is a hard job sometimes. There are some great resources out there that help teachers teach children the love of writing.
Jennifer Serravallo's go-to books for writing will help make my students learn to love to read and want to become great authors.
Children have wonderful imaginations. I want to help them turn those thoughts into great stories.
I am asking for help purchasing mentor texts that will help make my students become better writers. You will be helping mold the next generation of writers by helping fund these books.
