Wow! The year is now 2022 and it’s easy to say this year will be like no other. My students overcame so much in 2021 and I love their desire to learn. As we continue to navigate the classroom along the rocky ridge we all know as Covid 19, I feel so at home with my students. Stepping into our classroom is like stepping into a pre-Covid world. The kiddos are sweet, silly, and so curious.
I found it easy for this group to get lost in a good book.
They love two things: hope and a good message for a better world!
My Project
Everyday, my class and I allocate time for novel studies. We spend 15-30 reading 1-2 chapters and discussing the text elements, summarizing important events in the chapter(s), and the overall plot progression. These texts are new and exciting.
I plan for my students to be ambitious as they explore new worlds with these familiar authors!
As they read these titles, many of my students will be pushing their reading limits. Kiddos who may usually read much shorter, less meaningful books have the opportunity to explore and learn at a higher level.
