Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Multicultural students in our urban school will benefit from the equipment that we hope to receive. With a fresher and wider assortment of volleyballs, we can expose students to new activities and learning opportunities. Middle schoolers are typically students who need to move around and be active.

Both Kinesthetic and tactile learning can be beneficial to middle school students who tend to refrain from physical activities because of their addiction to video games and social media.

Receiving this new equipment will help us to address these learning styles. There is a multitude of activities that can be done with the equipment that will keep students engaged, ranging from classic games such as various volleyball drills. One-to-one ball ratio increases player contact and therefore, makes them better players. A new net system reduces the risk of injury from equipment malfunctions. The outdoor net system will help students with mental health and improve cardiovascular health Lastly, having students of many cultural backgrounds play volleyball can break barriers and build community among our students.
