My Students

Volleyball practice can't happen without balls and we are in need of new ones to maximize our practice time. We are a deaf school and a public 4A volleyball program, where we compete in the FHSAA District play and the State Series Volleyball Tournament. We are working hard to have a successful season.

We have Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Volleyball programs where many of the girls come in with no experience and play from middle school until they graduate.

This year, our Middle School team had 9 girls, our JV team had 8 girls, and our Varsity had 9 girls.

We are a K-12 school that receives funding from the state level. We are limited on what we can use the state funds for; therefore, we rely heavily on private donors for extracurricular program needs. Our program serves children from all over the state of Florida.

My Project

We currently have 25 balls that are at least two seasons old. Some of them are probably four or more years old. We typically have about thirty girls between the MS, JV, and Varsity teams and I'd like to have at least one ball per girl for practice. More balls allow practice to run more smoothly without stopping to search for balls.

I require my volleyball players to maintain good grades and behavior in school and the residential program, be good role models for other students, and do community service (we do a Dig Pink Volleyball game where we donate all of the money for breast cancer research).

These items will help my team improve their volleyball skills, which will directly go back to building character as individuals.
