My Students

How can we run an effective athletic program when students do not have the necessary equipment to succeed? The varsity girls' volleyball team is in desperate need of new uniforms and a new net.

The students on the volleyball team have the skills to succeed but not the equipment.

Many of these students see after school activities as an outlet for the stressful lives they lead everyday. They come to practice ready and eager to play but have limited equipment. Our goal is to offer the fullest opportunities for the students to get exercise, learn to be cooperative, and how to be a team player. Sports not only enhance the students for better fitness, but helps them to become higher achievers as studies show that exercises help their tests scores.

My Project

Our athletes have increasingly limited amount of resources, such as sport equipment available to them. However, they need this equipment and uniforms to be successful on the court and off the court.

By having access to a new net and new volleyballs the student athletes will become extraordinary rather than ordinary.

The students will utilize the net to improve their skills while learning to work as a team. Through volleyball they are building communication skills, leadership abilities, and gaining confidence. These important skills will carry with them beyond high school. They are hardworking girls in the classroom and they hope to carry this hardworking and dedication onto the court.

They also need new uniform shorts to be able to play in games. The uniformity solidifies the feeling of being a team.
