My Project

Throughout the year, students will build a living portfolio—a curated collection of writing that showcases their evolving voice, growing skill set, and developing perspective. Writing is not just a school task; it’s a life tool. This project is designed to reflect that truth.

From first drafts to final submissions, students will engage in the full writing process: brainstorming, outlining, drafting, revising, editing, and polishing.

Each piece will include editorial commentary, offering students a chance to receive and reflect on constructive feedback from both teacher and peers. This process helps highlight real-time growth and reinforces the idea that writing, like life, is refined through practice, patience, and attention to detail.

Here’s what we’re hoping to add to the classroom:

Printing is... well, it can be a headache. A classroom printer would let students print straight from their phones during class, so they can spend more time editing and proofreading—and less time stressing about how to print.

A Cricut Maker 3:

This is a super handy creative tool that can cut paper, vinyl, fabric—you name it. It’ll help students personalize their writing portfolios with labels, covers, tabs, and more.

The Henoyso 72-piece plastic folder set will be used to house each student's writing portfolio, providing a durable and organized way to collect, store, and display their work throughout the year. To personalize and elevate these portfolios, we will use a variety of Cricut tools and materials, including the Ultimate Accessories and Supplies Tool Kit for Beginners, Adhesive Cutting Mats, Lya Permanent Vinyl, Transfer Tape, Basic Tool Set, Waterproof Sticker Paper, and the Cricut Scoring Stylus.

These tools won't just support this project—they’ll allow students to creatively customize their portfolios with professional-quality labels, designs, and organizational elements in the years ahead.
