The specific items will make a difference in their learning because this device will regulate my voice so students can have a peaceful learning environment. My goals are to quit raising my voice over talking students, and failing to keep a pleasant and caring learning environment. I've seen my peers successfully use this amplifier since it is so high watt- you can even stand at the door to welcome students and, at the same time, talk to students in the classroom so they can get started on their Do Now/bell work.
Another goal is to relieve the anxiety for both my students and me.
It can be distracting and disconcerting to hear a teacher use their "teacher voice" 60% of the time. It is also a strain on my voice and lowers my job satisfaction.
My students are very special! Our school is one that has a long waiting list because kids in and out of the school boundaries are clamoring to come to this great school. Our kids come here knowing they can be themselves and that their teachers and other adults really care about them.
