Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love "Fun Fridays." At least once a month on a Friday afternoon, my students and I play board games. Board games are a great way for my English Learners to learn the language.

"Apples to Apples," "Taboo," "Upwords," and "Bananagrams" are just a few examples of board games that can provide my EL students with opportunities to build new vocabulary, practice speaking the language, learn important spelling skills, and to interact with their peers in healthy competition.

Students have so much fun that they forget that they are actually learning. It is truly a rewarding experience for me as their teacher to see them grow both academically and socially.
