My Project

Social Studies has to be lived not just read from a textbook. This book brings the Revolutionary War to life.

My goal for all three social studies classes is to read this book while we learn and study the War for Independence.

The book pits a family supporting both sides of the war. It is the beginning of our country and what was needed to gain independence. My fifth graders love classroom discussion, and this book has many angles for classroom discussion.

These students need a spark to hold their attention and see how the colonies became a country!
