About My Students

My students represent a group of young individuals with varied abilities and a variety of learning needs. They come together daily from all over Brooklyn, and as far as Staten Island and the Bronx. My students show a great deal of passion and are motivated by educational opportunities that are practical to their lives and relevant to their interests. This school year, we are working hard to develop our critical thinking skills and begin to work toward building pragmatic solutions to challenges in our daily lives.

With the materials that we are requesting in this project, students will have the opportunity to create 360 degree visual art environments using Google's Tilt Brush. Our goal is to use this digital visual art platform to create fully immersive, multimedia presentations of various topics in school, including principles of science, mathematics and major themes and events in social studies.

In Their Own Words

We are trying to raise money for our school so that we can have a virtual reality headset that we can use for art and science projects.

With this equipment, we will be able to work independently to see anything that we want as if we were there. We can also add to our virtual environments by drawing them with Google's Tilt Brush.

Another benefit of drawing with the virtual reality headset is that we can save on paper.

We will show leadership by helping demonstrate to other students how the virtual reality system works and the concepts that we are learning in class. When we have the opportunity, we will also show them how fun the technology can be. Finally, we will take responsibility to care for the equipment so that it lasts a long time.

This project is important to our school because we are trying to equip our school with the latest technology. We will be able to be artistic and creative using futuristic tools. We will save on paper by drawing 3D images in the air. Finally, we can even use the Virtual Reality system for our game club too.
