Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are all different personalities, ethnicities, and characters. My students range mostly of hispanic and of black ethnicity. I teach in the upper west side where we do have much parent support, however, we do still have kids and families of lower income. My school is pretty diverse and we are always looking to be able to help our students' so they can be as successful as they can be. Being that my kids are hispanic, black, asian and of different backgrounds, they all also learn in many different ways.

My students are always eager to learn new facts and concepts in science!

My Project

Being able to make hard copies of information needed in science will make it easier for students to learn and comprehend what they are learning; for example, when learning about photosynthesis- it is easier to show students a visual and guide them through the process with a marker. Some students are able to learn much better with visual presentations and sometimes it is easier to do it on a hard copy rather than with technology. Especially during remote learning, having this printer with extra ink cartridges will allow me to print guiding resources to teach students rather than have them visualize concepts on their own.
