My students are excited about learning. Hands-on experiences and different innovative ways to learn spark interest in learning. Many of my students love technology but are unable to afford many of the things teens today take for granted. My school is very rural, and many students have been unable to experience the latest technology trends and devices that are available. We are a Title I school. However, these students are passionate about their learning as are their teachers. They are ready for hands-on learning.
Many of my students are hands-on learners who desire to create and interact with their learning.
Virtual reality allows such experiences and will offer my students many opportunities that may otherwise be out of their reach.
My Project
Virtual reality is the new technology wave. Inspiring students' creativity through instructional challenges helps them problem solve and develop creative skills that will help them in the future. We need a Virtual Reality System. Having fun while learning is at the heart of this project.
The goal of this project is to create a mobile virtual reality experience at my school.
This will allow students in each class to experience the engaging type of learning that virtual reality offers. The setup will allow classes to come to our makerspace and incorporate this as a learning opportunity for students. Such experiences include Google Tiltbrush for art class, virtual field trips, and many other great experiences.
