My Project

As a 9th grade ELA teacher, the theme I find myself returning to most often is voice. So many of our units are centered around the idea of finding our voice.... but even more important, learning to use our voice.

Communication is at the heart of everything we do in our classroom, and that means a daily emphasis on vocabulary.

I teach my students that their voice is their power, and that means we need to have the words to communicate with confidence and clarity. I'd like to create laminated and reusable words for classroom word walls, visual vocabulary cards, and other word activities and games to engage my students in the art of word choice.
