I teach special education English to 9th and 12th graders at a high need school. The students are wonderful and hard working. They frequently go above and beyond, asking if they can complete two projects instead of one because they are so eager to learn.

My students are very visual learners and any new concepts or vocabulary must be visually or kinesthetically presented. New vocabulary is essential when teaching and reading a new novel in my freshman course and when teaching my students more sophisticated language to include in their essays and college entrance papers. That is why I have been presenting all new vocabulary on my class transparency. However the school's budget has been reduced and no transparency paper is being offered to the teachers.

I am asking for 7 boxes of transparency paper so that most if not all vocabulary can be presented visually therefore providing students with the greatest opportunity to comprehend and expand their language skills.

Your help will ensure that my special education students can understand vocabulary in their class novels and to write with greater sophistication. Expanding their vocabulary will not only help them in high school but in college and beyond.
