Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Visual supports help educators and caregivers communicate better with autistic people, and they can help autistic people communicate better with others. They can be used in most situations, and are adaptable and portable.

Visual supports can help to:

provide structure and routine

encourage independence

build confidence

improve understanding

avoid frustration and anxiety

provide opportunities to interact with others.

They can make communication physical and consistent, rather than fleeting and inconsistent like spoken words can be.

Teacher's Pay Teachers is an online community where educators share and sell their visual supports and activity ideas. Having the ability to purchase materials from this site will help me to better support the students that I work with.
