My Students

I have 13, three and four year old, students in my class. We have 11 girls and two boys. We are an at-risk program located in Richmond. Many students come from low-income families and may have challenges to face at home; however, they come to school ready to learn!

Our students are curious, excited, and hard working!

They all learn in different ways, so we are constantly thinking of new strategies to teach them and get them ready for Kindergarten!

My Project

Currently, we are learning at home which has been quite the experience! We have had to be creative in order to make virtual learning more hands on. We have succeeded in doing so by creating things with online lessons, with Play-Doh and lots of drawing. However, when we are doing some activities, it is hard for my students to see what I am doing. I am unable to show them that I am making a pattern with items found around my house.

Having an iPad and an Osmo will solve this problem!

The Osmo enables me to complete activities visually on my table and mirror them so my students can see what I am doing. The Osmo also comes with additional learning games and tools to demonstrate various activities to my students.

I have also learned during my teaching time at home, that having a second screen will also benefit me while I teach. This will enable me to see my students more easily while I am sharing online lessons. I am excited to continue to learn of new ideas to make learning at home more beneficial to my students!
