My Students

I work with ELL students with special needs. This year I only work with one boy who is the most hard working and motivated student I have ever worked with. He is a visual learner who learns much better when he sees me modeling multiple times and looks at visual aides. He wants to make his mom and I proud of him, and he tries so hard to be better. He would ask me to tell his mom how well he does in my class, then he would say to himself out loud that he is the best in the world. At that moment, I feel fulfilled by his excitement and his mom’s smile. I hope I could make him think that way all the time.

My Project

Modeling has become a challenge for me on the screen Since my student and I are both fully remote at home, and we have virtual classes two to three hours on Google meet. I share my screen and type to show him how-to,but most of the time he needs to see how I write and what my thinking is in print.

Therefore, I hope that I can use I-pencil to demonstrate how to solve math problems and writing on an i-pad since my student is a visual learner.

For example, we are learning comparing decimals now, and it is so difficult for my student to understand the concept without seeing me writing decimals in a place value chart.
