Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me offer my young students the opportunity to have visual inspirations, language and vocabulary help, rubrics, and additional information all organized in one place.

I am an art teacher at an elementary school in Corona, Queens.

Most of the artists I see are ENL students, who have had very limited experience creating art. It would be great if I could provide extra support by giving them additional resources during each class that will encourage them to grow their creative thinking, and overall understanding and also improve their English language learning.

I would like to have these flip charts placed at each table and get the students used to working with them, whether is looking for words that would help them better describe their work, or rubrics to help them build on their independence and confidence level while doing independent work, or simply looking at images to spark their inspiration.

Your support can help me create a rich environment, where we create beautiful artwork, while at the same time we develop our language skills, confidence level, and creative minds.
