My Students

I currently teach a self-contained class in a Title I school. Funding is very limited and so are the materials. Many of my students are English Language Learners; many are special education, and most (approximately 90%) qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. These students come to school excited for learning and love to get their hands on anything that will help increase their learning. Many of my students go home to houses with little to no updated technology. All students are reading 2 years below grade level. Beyond these odds, my students work hard to achieve a level one status and are fabulous human beings. These students are excited to learn and absolutely love learning

My Project

I am a special education teacher that understands the importance of providing my students with the materials they need to focus and to help them improve.

Flexible seating is important for my students.

Now we can just place these handy cushions on the floor or on a chair—for flexible seating anywhere. These super-durable vinyl cushions are specially designed to let students wiggle and wobble while they sit…helping children focus as they move. The cushions feature large nubs on one side and small nubs on the other—students simply select the sensory surface they prefer.

These colorful sand timer provides a highly visual way to measure minutes of time. These timers has been tested for accuracy…and features a giant, easy-view design that’s ideal for classroom use. What an awesome way to quietly remind students that their time is almost up.
