Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
A diverse and loving group who is ready to be back in the classroom and be engaged with meaningful experiences. My students frequently and eagerly ask, "What are we doing today?" They're ready for adventure!
Many of my students are first or second generation immigrants to the United States.
They have roots in two beautiful cultures and bring out the best is both of them. As a Spanish teacher with a classroom full of Spanish speakers we have the unique experience of having the students learn from one another as the practice the target language.
My Project
Do you remember visiting a new culture or country for the first time? The architecture is new, the landscape is new, everything is new. This is the experience I want to give my students. We regularly learn about the majestic cultures, food and landscapes of Spanish speaking countries. Unfortunately, many of my students won't be able to experience it for themselves anytime soon. A Virtual Reality tour takes us a several steps closer than we currently are capable of to actually being in the countries we are learning about in class. I hope to motivate my students to become global citizens and world travelers by giving them the language skills they need and inspiring them with the beautiful sights to see via our Oculus sets.
