Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low socioeconomic school in Southern California where all students receive free lunch. My students are special because they are in a bilingual kindergarten class. Seventy percent of our day is in Spanish and 30% of our day is in English. I have 20 students with different needs, personalities, and learning modalities. Most of my students are English language learners, but I do have English speakers who want to learn how to read and write in two languages. How awesome is that?

My Project

My little ones are using iPads to work virtually from home and their little fingers are getting tired and sometimes completing an assignment is challenging for them since their fine motor skills are not fully developed. Therefore, I want to help them out by providing a stylus pen to make it easier for them to complete their work and at the same time give them a chance to develop and improve their motor skills. These are very difficult times for all and parents are struggling to help their children as much as possible and I need your help. Thanks!
