Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school, which means the majority of my students are on free lunch due to family low income. They come from different backgrounds and cultures. Many of them speak only Spanish and are quickly learning English.

Despite the many daily challenges they face in and out of school, my 38 students come to class eager to explore and learn.

Many of my students have no access to a home computer or tablet. Therefore, they are not able to complete online assignments which are necessary to get a 21st Century adequate education.

My Project

Technology is a an intrinsic part of today's education. Students are reading books, solving word problems, learning new lessons, watching videos, and completing homework online.

Having access to a computer today is essential to acquire a good education.

My students have limited access to computers in school and some of them do not have any access at home.

Therefore, having some HP tablets is going to provide my students with the opportunity to complete assignments and inquiries, and it will help them to be exposed to coding. When computers are accessible, students show growth and improvement. I want the students in my class to have an equal opportunity to succeed in school.
