My Project

I am teaching a course called He3at, where students are exposed to societal issues, i.e. issues in healthcare, agriculture, sustainable energy, global warming/climate change, and more. The students then learn the design thinking process to create technological solutions to these world problems.

I would love to give my students, who are largely from low-income households, access to virtual reality to give them the unique experience of immersing themselves in these real-world issues.

The VR headset I am requesting would immerse students into documentaries about broken healthcare systems, polluted oceans, dying ecosystems, technological revolutions, and much more. Students will also be able to travel the world to compare how these issues are affecting different communities. We can even use the VR to communicate with people around the world and discuss technological advancements in their countries.

With this one VR headset, students can deepen their understanding and connection to real world issues and be inspired to do their part!
