Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are English Language Learners and under-represented. Many of the scholars have stories of amazing journeys overcoming traumatic adversity. They are resilient and brilliant. They are optimistic despite the news they see and the speeches they hear. My scholars sleep with the American dream. They represent many cultures, languages, abilities, religions, talents, goals, and personalities. They are eager to learn.
My students are bilingual and polishing their biliteracy skills.
They attend a comprehensive urban public high school.
My Project
My scholars have not been immersed in the virtual world due to a lack of access to technology and wi-fi. The Oculus Quest 2 will open the portal to digital learning. From science labs to geological phenomenon, students will engage in enrichment.
Exploring virtual opportunities will prepare them for future success.
The Oculus Quest 2 immerses students in interactive learning environments that feel like real simulations. I want the scholars in my classes to be curious, to be creative, and to have confidence. Closing the educational technology gap will strengthen the students' comfort level assimilating, acculturating, and preparing for college, career, and life.
