Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Third grade is an exciting time of transition for students. I have the honor of being one of the first intermediate teachers a child will meet. At our elementary school, my morning meeting is an engaging way to connect with my students at the beginning of each day. Along with teaching reading, I establish a culture of kindness, citizenship with my ELL (English language learner) students, give them ownership of the classroom, and teach responsibility.

It's so rewarding to see my students grasp a new skill or concept and be excited about learning through the use of technology.

Young children are truly like sponges and absorb information at an alarming rate! When children are given the opportunity to play and learn with developmentally appropriate materials, they blossom before our eyes. The curiosity and eagerness that my students exhibit for learning about the world around them never ceases to amaze me.

My Project

I want to incorporate technology effectively into many of my lessons because of the positive effects it has on students. I want my students to use the laptop to help them research and create work at home.

There are a large variety of programs available that can help my students create engaging papers, presentations, and graphics.

Research shows that when students use laptops in the classroom and at home, learning improved in a number of subjects, including science, math, and English. Students received more feedback on their writing, edited and revised their papers more often, drew on a wider range of resources to write, and published or shared their work with others more often.
