My Students

I am going to be the teacher of a wonderful group of 2nd graders that love to be in school, learn about new things, and be with their friends. Sadly, this year we can not start our school year in our school building. I teach in a Title 1 School in Virginia. We are a Pre-K through 8th grade building. Nearly 900 students call our school their "home", where students from many diverse backgrounds come to explore, engage, & learn about the world around them. I have students in my class this year representing many parts of this world. Along with having students from Virginia, Florida, & Texas, I have students representing the countries of France, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Philippines & Mexico.

For many of my students, school is more than just a place to learn, but also a place to feel nurtured and supported.

Even during virtual learning I want my students to receive the support they need. My goal is to make their at home learning as much like their classroom learning as possible.

My Project

Even though our locations will be separate, our daily routine will remain the same! My plan is to continue to provide my students with hands on learning as much as possible. Since we will be learning virtually for most of our daily instruction, each student will need the same materials we would use everyday in a classroom setting.

Providing learning materials to all of my students will ensure that there is no barrier to them all completing their best work.

I am excited for each of my students have their very own bag to keep all of their supplies in for each lesson. They can even choose their favorite color!
