Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Pre-K in a diverse urban elementary school that is located in South Gate, California. The majority of my students are from a lower socioeconomic background.

Despite the challenges of their environment, my students are loving, kind, and excited to make friends during their first year at school.

However, due to Covid-19, it is likely that we will be learning from home for most of the year. I am developing a fun, interactive distance learning model for my students to participate in, but it will require them to be online for an extended period of time.

My Project

Being that my students are so young, their attention span is short, which means I must break up our online class into shorter meeting times. It's important that my students look forward to coming to every one of their Zoom classes throughout the day.

Funding my project would mean my students would have access to engaging resources, games, and social-emotional materials.

My students need activities that will help develop the oral language and social skills that are so important to learn in Pre-K. Having access to online resources on Teachers Pay Teachers would ensure that I'm able to provide fun virtual activities that my students would look forward to during the day.
