Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a one-of-a-kind school focused on preparing students for high school education in Agriscience Engineering and Medical Biotechnology. It is a unique school. Our school is separated into a lower academy (grades K–5) and an upper academy (grades 6–8). It is open to all students.

Our school is a Title I school which means that we are in a low-income area with at-risk students.

Many of the students at this school come from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

Motivating these students is key. Many times it is hard to get parental involvement at our school, but, with drive and determination from the students, staff, and families, I believe that we can reach and surpass our goals.

My Project

We will use the iPad for virtual learning and to reach learning gains. The touch screen, pencil tool, and keyboard will help them use and navigate through the web and apps easily and it will make learning fun and engaging.

There are so many educational apps, websites, and resources available, the iPad makes navigating the internet and apps a breeze!

Students will benefit greatly from having this technology readily available for them to use daily. Unfortunately we don't have access to technology like tablets and individual laptops so anything helps!
